The Houston draft
3.18 FB Kimble Anders (24/47)
Primarily a blocker, just what a fullback should be. Odds of him making the roster are about 9 in 10.
4.17 P Kent Sullivan (88/88)
Uhm, okay... I hoped he'd be good, but that good? Sorry Greg Coleman, but there's a good chance you won't make the team, if you will, you'll do as a mentor.
5.23 WLB Mitch Donahue (13/26)
We've built a linebackers tradition in Houston. Donahue looks like a typical blitz backer. There's a very good chance he'll make the team.
6.22 TE Reggie Johnson (11/24)
A miscast. Johnson wasn't supposed to be picked here, but unluckily he was atop the utility when I was reshuffling names. Will he make the team? Only if he turns out to be a super long snapper.
7.21 RG John Flannery (12/35)
Not sure we need another guard, but he was one of few players left worth picking. He was actually the last player left from our 6th round pick list. With some luck he'll make our team as our 10th lineman. He likely won't, but you never know.
Plus you again managed to pick a Flannery !

Enh, we dealt our early picks for Jack "Chop that Wood" Del Rio, so we didn't expect much. We did land soon to be starting Fullback Harvey Williams and what we hope will be the steal of the draft, (RB) Ricky Ervins in the 4th round. We're going to try and convert Ervins into a Flanker and we think he can eventually become a very good starter there.
Of course his volatility is 89, so watch him bust.

New York Giants draft
1.02 - S Eric Turner (50/79)
Very excited about the pick. Although we had visions of Eric switched to CB, that is not going to happen. He seems too tall for that. Anyway, despite being listed as a S, he'll pay at cornerback, I assure you.
5.02 - CB Roger Jones (13/47)
Ok, we need CBs, right. No idea if ratings are true, but seeing how crappy our current CBs are, Roger is 99% sure of making the team baring disaster in camp.
5.28 - S Mike Iquanello (19/49)
Again, very much drafted with eyeing on a switch to CB, but forgot to check size. Still, looking okay for a low rounder.
6.28 - C Joe Valerio (16/32)
Well, I hoped to get another shot at a S or CB, but my list got emptied. Joe is a long snapper. Not sure he'll play at all for us.
7.28 - FB Victor Jones (21/47)
Likely going to be tried at RB. Nothing much.

Steelers draft:
Not really that pleased with it. I usually prepare quite a bit for an MP draft. This time though, I sort of improvised.
1.18 SE Randal Hill 31/56
I'm hoping he developes well, and if he does he's going to be very useful. Will absolutely start, even if he busts totally as there isn't any real competition. The rest of my receivers are horrible.
2.26 G Bob Dahl 31/50
Guard wasn't really a need, but he can still be useful i guess. Will most likely be a backup at the start. Hopefully he'll develop into something more.
3.23 TE Keith Cash 23/35
Not really sure what I was thinking here. I'm hoping he'll improve quite a bit. Most likely a backup.
3.27 SLB Lonnie Marts 17/38
Run stopping LB. Will move to ILB. Decent change he'll get to start.
4.22 SS Lamar McGriggs 17/45
Run stopping S. Safety is probably our strongest position, but McGriggs will get to play quite a bit anyway.
4.26 SLB Ron Cox 15/29
No idea here. Cover linebacker maybe?
5.21 CB A.J. Greene 22/30
Backup CB. Looks decent enough and should be a good special teams player.
6.20 K Charlie Baumann 55/55
Only 61% developed, so he should improve quite a bit. Brilliant leg, just seems a tad bit inaccurate. Hopefully he'll fix that though. Will, unless a total camp bust, be the starter.
7.19 WLB Terry Crews 7/21
Camp fodder.

Philadelphia Eagles draft
1.19 - OT James "Big Cat" Williams (27/70)
Williams looks to be a bookend on the O-line for years to come. Still a bit raw, but a great late first round pickup for the Eagles.
2.18 - DT Russell Maryland (23/52)
We were pleasantly surprised to get Maryland at late in the 2nd round and he will rotate at the starting NT position in the 3-4 with 12-year vet Wade Nastasi. Love his run-stopping potential, making him the future in the middle of the defense for the Eagles.
3.17 - OLB Mike Croel (21/52)
Croel will step in and start from day 1, barring a huge fall in ratings at the TC. Nice 3rd round pickup.
4.23 - WR Wesley Carroll (13/29)
A known reach, the "homer" pick looks to be a 4th or 5th WR at best.
5.22 - TE James Jenkins (15/28)
Possible long snapper, but with the FA signing of Clarence Kay, may not make the roster.
6.21 - CB Bruce Pickens (17/28)
Will be used in dime situations as a rookie. Hopefully will develop in TC and hit mid 30's by year end.
7.20 - RB Randy Baldwin (13/17)
No chance in hell of making the roster. Won't be tendered a contract.
DRAFT GRADE: (in-game) A- (my thoughts) B

NOS draft
1.14 Michael Sinclair - DE - 29/51 He's a starter, but we hope his ratings go up a bit.
2.13 Jerome Henderson - S - 19/65 We've had a big hole at safety for a while now. We're hoping Henderson maintains his ratings and helps our secondary build.
3.12 - Tom Dohring - T - 21/48 Could be a nice utility tackle for us.
4.11 - Bob Christian - FB - 22/39 We were hoping to hit on a starting fullback. Maybe he's a creeper, but I suck at spotting creepers.
5.10 - Terry Obee - WR - 21/33 We hope his punt return skills hold up, but doubtful to see much playing time.
6.16 - Calvin Stephens - G - 16/36 Could make the team depending on his camp
7.15 - Shannon Smith - WLB - 4/42 Could be a nice platoon player.
I think we had a pretty good draft, but we'll see how training camp treats us. it's a rare year that the saints don't take a huge hit somewhere.

Nothin. We got nothin. Our top pick is FUTURE rated at 29. Move along.
On a related note, the in-game draft grade proved its complete and utter ridiculousness by giving the Broncos an A-. How is that even possible?
It's unlikely any of the players we drafted will ever start (first pick wasn't until 3rd round), most won't even make the roster, and the top-rated player we drafted is a punter, even though we have a young, better punter on the squad already. Why only give us an A-? I'm thinking that's a solid A.

1.26 DT Keith Traylor 33/57 - pleased to see him drop to us, we needed help on the D line which is looking good now.
2.27 CB Larry Brown 25/41 - not sure here, no workout so could go any way.
3rd round onwards I went awol so not a lot of anything really. I doubt any of them make the team.

This is where we stand before Training Camp.
1.29 - WR Keenan McCardell 30/61
- Looking like he will slide into the #3 receivers slot in his first season and eventually move into the starters role.
2.19 - WLB Carlos Jenkins 24/64
- Not sure if he will stay at LB or not. I am strongly considering moving him to FS. We will make that decision before TC.
3.29 RT Harry Boatswain 8/60
- His low current value scares me a bit. I will probably work him in as a backup to both tackle spots as the season moves on. Hopefully he will develop into a starter for us.
4.31 SS Dave McCloughan 13/51
- We are looking at the possibility of moving him to CB. Either way he should fill in right away as the nickleback even if he stays at SS.
5.27 NT Chris Williams 14/51
- Will hopefully provide depth behind starer Bill Maas. Decent bars but nothing spectacular.
5.31 LDE Tim Edwards 16/38
- Not sure he will make the team but we are hoping he turns out to be a bit of a run stopper.
6.31 LG Jeff Pahukoa 13/42
- Not expecting much here other than to have a guy who can let our starters rest a bit.
7.31 RCB Sammy Walker 11/23
- Unless a miracle happens I don't expect him to see the field.

K taking over a sinking ship and a CPU draft that makes my defensive roster look like cooked noodles. I hope Gary Brown and Joe Montana and Anthony Miller score alot because after each week i am going to cry about my defense.......
1.24 Gary Brown 37/45
big back 230 pounds with looked good at his pro days and my scouts saw him gaining some speed if we dropped a little baby fat
2.25 Donald Hollas 9/44
o what a project and hopefully Joe will help mold him the next few years. He would not have been my pick but the old regime is outta here and hope he creeps up
3.24 Chuck Klingbeil 19/28
31 reps at the combine(3 didn't count) and 30 at his pro day. 288 lbs needs little more handles and his rip technique was the best in the draft
4.25 Craig Patterson 18/34
physical specimen for sure 6-4 315 lbs can dunk a basketball run the 40 in 4.89 and did 25 reps of 225. Does not show up on the field like that but we hope to change that.
5.24 Scott Ross 20/40
average at everything high motor guy...which means pretty much special teams
6.25 Darrell Malone 15/29
My safetys and corners are so bad this guy may start at one side really..small 5-10 and 172 and slow for a corner 4.56
7.24 Scott Miller 10/15
Yes the Scott Miller that single handly beat USC in the rival game with his two punt returns. That is the only chance he has to make the team at all.
I feel overall my draft grade was a C- and so did Soley. tough to draft some of the positions we did when we have 1 safety on the team and 0 offensive tackles seriously computer did you want me to play with 5 centers on the line?
