Reporter: The Chargers picked up their first win under your tenure as GM today against an unfancied Rams team. What's your reaction to the result, the performance and next week's game against the Jets?
DH: First of all the result. We got a win and that's the most important thing. It's nice to put up all the big numbers but the bottom line is winning football games and we found a way to win so we're pleased with that. The Rams are a good football team and we didn't have Jamal in the backfield plus we were on the road so yeah, it was a big win for us.
As for the performance, it was like deja vu. Giving them a head start. Giving up a big play on defense and special teams for scores and then the second half turnaround. If we just played second halves we'd probably go 16-0. It's something we're working on putting right and hopefully we can make some adjustments for the Jets game so that we don't put ourselves in a hole early. But I was impressed at how we hung in there and found a way to win on the road.
We need to improve for the Jets game. Simple as. If you give any team a head start in this league then you're going to struggle. Hopefully the adjustments we'll make in training this week we help with that. The Jets are a great team with a fantastic quarterback in Favre, though he does have one of his big weapons missing, which will help us. That said it's still going to be a very tough road game for us. We're hoping Jamal may come back for us but he's still questionable at the moment. It will be a game decision whether or not he plays. We're hoping he can and that he doesn't suffer any ill effects and that we can play how we want to, without having to play catch up.
