The Vikings came into the season as NFC North Champions, an honour they have held for the last two seasons under the stewardship of General Manager John. GM Kailan took the reins this year to try and built on the great work of his predecessor with a single goal to take the Vikings to its first GEFL Bowl. Whatever the Vikings can achieve will always be partially down to Coach John a fact the new kid in town, Kailan won’t forget.

At present the Vikings stand level at 7-4 with the Chicago Bears in the race for the North, nothing has been achieved as yet and in the way of any achievement is legendary General Manager “Beargrowlz”. The Bears have won both games Vs the Vikings this year giving them a distinct psychological edge but a Viking is a formidable warrior especially when sounding its battle cry. That cry is starting to be heard with 4 wins out of there last 5 games, but the Bear is standing its ground and refusing to give an inch with five games to go.

Ironically both teams have to play the Bills, Lions, Patriots and Packers during there last five games. The Bears also play the 49’ers while the Vikings have the Outlaws. The Bears have two at home, the Vikings three. The Bears have teams with a combined record of 24-31 to play the Vikings 21-34 so it looks like the battle for the North will go right down to Week 17. The Media view is the Vikings have apparently just the better roster while the Bears have apparently the better game planner, but remember don’t always believe what you read in the Media.

Who ever does end up the winner of the North it’s sure going to be fun to watch and whichever team does win it then they will have to overcome teams like the Buccs and the power houses of the NFC East in the Playoffs if either team is to make the Bowl, a truly daunting task for either! We asked both General Managers to comment on what may happen, we asked Kailan first, he answered. “When I took on the Vikings we were told we had no chance what so ever facing some teams in the NFC, I took those words and nailed them to the Locker Room wall, yes my god we respect them but we certainly do not fear them.” We now await a comment from the Bear, will we hear the growl of the Grizzly, the whimper of a cub or perhaps just some famous Beargrowlz wit………….!

Good article. The Vikings fought us tough twice, so if they get past us I think they'll be a tough team to beat in the playoffs. Our job is just to stop that from happening. I like our squad and I like our chances, so dig in boys it's gonna be a battle.

The pressure moves all on the Bears shoulders as we move a game ahead with 4 to play. The Vikings are a roll while the Bears are looking a bit wobley. Can Bear get them playing again or will we cruise to the NFC North Title, one thing is for sure we're now in front and we have no intention of giving that spot up without a war. And us Vikings like Wars

It looks like short of a miracle - or disaster depending on your view - the division belongs to the Vikings despite losing twice to Chicago. The Bears finish up a horrendous four game road trip this week in which their offense has been completely non-existant. Said Beargrowlz, "We don't make the schedule, we just play it. And poorly right now."

The biggest question looming over the Bears right now is whether Beargrowlz will send Bear legend Bernie Kosar to the bench to finish his career. Or will he find a way to revitalize the old man once more and get the offense moving again.

GM Manager Kailan was unavailable for comment as apparently he was sitting on the Porch with a big fat cigar pondering how good life was right about now.

Well Coach it’s been a great season for you so far, you’ve regained the Vikings NFC North Divisional Title for the 3rd year running although obviously it’s your first as leader of the Franchise, how do you feel? “Pretty good but we’ve got a lot of work to do before going into the Playoffs.”

After Week 6 you trailed the Bears by 2 games and things looked bleak, what changed? “Well obviously we won 8 of the next 9 games once we got the game plans sorted out. We had a team meeting and sorted some things out and a lot of players stepped up after that and played some great football.”

You just mentioned that your Vikings won 8 of your last 9 games while the Bears won just 4 of there last 9, that collapse by the Bears enabled you to catch them and move above and away from them to claim the Title again. So my question to you is why did the Bears finish up losing 5 of there last 9? “I’m not sure I don’t like to comment on other teams, maybe it was the Bears schedule as someone suggested, maybe the grass was too long in those stadiums who knows, but hey we played 4 consecutive games on the road as well and played as best we could. At the end of the day we’re just happy to be in the Playoffs.

It was a big decision for you to bench Weldon and put little known backup Rubley in? Well Weldon got injured and Rubley took his chance, it’s as simple as that. Rubley has had a lot longer to learn our scheme and that was key to him winning the job. What I will say is the boy has done well and deserves his shot at being our starter.

You’re going to face the Eagles or the Giants in the Wildcard game, who do you prefer? “Their both great teams, our victory over the Giants earlier in the Season was a big win and boy they played tough, our lose to the Eagles was before we got the Gameplans sorted but they beat us so we have to show those guys respect as well. So in answer to your question we don’t mind who we play, either will be very tough but we will fancy our chances against either because simply put we don’t fear anyone.

You’ve had a lot of problems at the Receiver position, first Freeman went down for 6 weeks and now Glenn for 6 weeks, that’s got to hurt? “Yeah it has big time, but the guys who stood in have been awesome. We’re a team not a bunch of individuals.

I know your going to choose yourself as favourites for the Bowl but out side of you who do you fancy? “The Bowl is along way away and we’ll concentrate on the Packers next week, then we will worry about the Playoffs. But in answer to your question if I had to choose a team it would be probably the Bengals or maybe the Redskins.
