News came down today that Ahman Green has asked to be traded and that the Chiefs will be granting his request. Apparently the team will accept the best offer sometime tomorrow. While GM thenewchuckd did not want to say much about the situation, he did sit down with us for a question and answer session:
Q: So Green is on the block to the highest offer, no matter what that offer turns out to be?
A: Not quite. I will not give him away for less that a future 2nd round pick. He can rot on the team if I do not get that. But I am pretty confident something will happen.
Q: So I take it from your last answer that you have had an offer? More than just one?
A: How about we agree to meet again tomorrow and you will find out.
Q: What happened to make him so unhappy?
A: He just wants the chance to be a starter. I can't say that I blame him. He played really well last season and got over some early fumbling issues and never looked back. I can't remember exactly what happened but I think he had maybe 3 fumbles in his first few games but went on to only post 4 on the season, while racking up 855 yards as a backup.
I will only have good memories of him playing for KC.
Q: I heard GM Red Zone thought you were dishonest in the lead up to this process. Anything to say about that?
A: People get frustrated when they can't work out a deal. I can understand that. I don't think I was ever dishonest with him, though. But I won't profess to being the absolute model GM in this league. I do wish him all the best, whether he wants to take part in this process or not.
Q: So some of the fans surely want to know how you will make your decision tomorrow if you have more than one offer. What if you get two offers that are the same?
A: First, I am valuing future picks more than current picks. Also, I will prefer any deal that has a future 1st included. I don't know why, but 2nd round picks do not turn out to be much in this league.
Other than that, I am not going to spend an hour looking over the deals. If, for example, there are multiple offers of just a 2nd round pick and nothing higher, I may just pick one at random. I don't really know, I will have to see the offers and then decide.

First of all great write up!
Just a teeny little thing that irked me just a little bit.

Like i said i do not mean to thread jack but there was DROY and others out there.
1st 10 picks are priceless no doubt
11-25 are not priceless but almost double a 2nd round pick
26-40 really all comes down to the talent of the draft
40-64 really are a crapshoot as alot of talent slides but usually for a reason
Sorry to jump in here Chuck as you know where i sit still on Green ;) .
Alot of people say the 2s are useless and it really is not correct. I have built my teams on 2s. I do it in almost every league. I cannot be wrong and there is very little room to make a mistake.
You need a few top 10 talent players to get you over the top but you get great teams from 2nd roun on.

Just a teeny little thing that irked me just a little bit.
It was just a write-up, no reason to get irked. I just don't want people coming after saying "my offer was better than his, why didn't you take it!". ;-)
All offers are naturally in the eye of the beholder. And this case, the beholder is me.

(Note: This press release is only for fun. I will not be accepting further offers, the window has now closed.)
Rumors are swirling this morning that GM thenewchuckd has a short list of offers for Ahman Green. He is just agonizing in his office at the moment trying to decide which one to take.
A source, who refused to be named, said that he is trying to decide between sending him to Oakland or sending him to Los Angeles. Both offers were apparently very similar. The GM may be leaning towards Oakland's offer, but is not keen to send Green to a division rival.
A press conference will be held, sometime around 12:30 pm EST, to announce the final decision.

Breaking news: the papers are being filed at league office as we speak. Ahman Green is about to become a Raider, pending the final paperwork.
And... GM thenewchuckd is just showing his face at the press conference now. He had this to say: "It has been a long process and I am glad that it is over. I won't have any other comments until everything is official. We wish Green the best of luck, although we certainly won't be giving him a warm welcome whenever he comes to town."
Sources say that Oakland GM Disturbed just has to sign the final paperwork, but it seems that is just a formality.
