That’s right sports fans the Vikings Defensive Line of the 1970’s, which had the motto “Meet at the Quarterback”.

Well the Vikings look like they are trying to resurrect those days after making two Trades for two of the GEFL’s best pass rushers. Saints 25 year old Sean Moran was 1st to arrive on Wednesday which saw the Vikings 2001 2nd Round pick going to the Saints. Moran boasts 23 sacks in 4 seasons and is remarkably young for a guy with 5 years GEFL experience. Vikings Head Coach Ricardo Lane explained “Moran has great technique coming off the edge and has good strength as well. We feel we can make him a better player and in doing so help him up his sack count to around 10 a year.

On Friday the Vikings traded for the Oilers Kevin Carter and they paid a lot for him sending 1.29 and a 2nd round pick in 2001 which the Vikings had acquired from the Rams. Carter has had 32 sacks in 5 years for the Oilers but has not really performed since his break out year in 1997 when he recorded 12.5 sacks. Carter is again very young at just 25 which was key in the Viking paying big for him.

General Manager Kailan explained the bold moves. “We’ve had a poor Pass Rush for the last couple of years and this has meant teams have passed on at will at times perhaps costing us a bowl appearance. If you had one of these guys on your team then yeah you’d have a decent pass rush, put the pair together coming from either end and I feel you’ve potentially got a great pass rush. So we will tell these guys to meet at the Quarterback.”

General Manager Kailan sent the Vikings press office into a spin when he added. “I don’t think we are done trading yet, there maybe another top player or possibly two coming in over the next few days.”
