I thought i'd put this table together to show which 1.1 pick has had the biggest impact to a team in games won after they where picked at 1.1. I appreciate the 1.1 pick is not the only reason a team got better or worse but i thought it may be an interesting discussion point.

Key 1. Is the games won prior to the team picking at 1.1
Key 2: Is the average number of games won over the next 3 seasons after picking at 1.1
Key 3: Is the average gain in wins over a 3 year period after picking at 1.1

So we can see that before the Browns picked 1.1 they went 2-14 (KEY1). They then won an average of 10 games (KEY 2) over the next 3 years after drafting Jerry Rice. This meant they won 10 more (KEY 3) games on average after picking Rice at 1.1. I hope that makes sense.

One thing about Rice...

Cleveland had one of the best rosters in the league and they ended up with 1.1.. so Rice stepped into a great situation.

I think one thing that is very interesting is that only one team out of eight who traded up to get 1.1 improved there record over the space of the next three years. Kind of proves that trading up does not really help in the short term

I think Faulk was the first guy I drafted based on combines only. Curtis Conway was a pick I traded away. I should have stayed and grabbed him but I didnt know the importance of wrs at that point. I wasnt really getting any offers and ended up taking a pity offer from chuckd........and to rub salt in the wound Subby got more for 1.2. I ended up taking Chad Brown with the pick I got that year who played well for me and I got a first the following year that ended up being 1.14 I think. I took a DE who ended up being a bust.OJ Mcduffie was taken after Brown and he was one of my favorite Dolphins so I wonder why I didnt grab him. Took me forever to get wrs so moving down ended up really hurting my teams growth. I drafted Chrebet who was good but ended up having to trade a ton to get T.O. I think that Bengals LT would have been higher but if I remember right they didnt have anyone running them and he was signed for most of his rookie year.
