Have any of you ever run a team with a real stud O-Line and maybe just average-above average skill players and had any success?

Yoda has won a few bowl games with a good QB, good RB, no WRs or TE worth mentioning, and a dominating Oline.

I'm an ex O-lineman and that concept kind of intrigues me.

Sounds like a good idea for a solo play league.

In the PFL there were 2 stud T's and I took them with picks 1.4 and 1.5 (interestingly they both retired at the same time 13 seasons later).

My lowest rating on my line then was like a 58 rated guard. The tackles were in the high 70s, low 80s (going from memory here). The Center was like 68, other guard was in the 70s I think (will have to see if I can get an old file and check).

Anyway- yeah, it can work. It's not as flashy as the big pass offenses that people seem to be enamored with now, especially with a heavy ball control offense.

I started a solo play league to try this starting with a draft. My o-line ended up being:
LT Joe Thomas 84/84 100 rb 68pb 82 bs 91 end
LG Justin Blalock 70/70 64 74 72 79
C Maurkice Pouncey 49/68 50/67rb 28/64pb 94 bs 25/44en
RG Jake Long 77/77(lt playing rg) 66 74 100 82
RT Ryan Clady 74/74 69 72 83 88

These are the ratings at the end of my first year.Thomas gave up 10 sacks. We went 11-5 won the wold card game then lost next round. We were top in the league in giving up only 18 sacks but our run blocking was worst in the league at 25.5. Cadillac Williams 37/37 became the starting rb after week two and averaged 4.12 ypc but was only playing like 60% of the time because I had 2 other backs I liked bar wise.....but they didnt realy play well. Matt Cassel 35/42 was the starting qb and finished 4th in the league with a 82.3 rating. The fb was Jacob Hester 76/76. WRs were Ted Ginn 43/43 and Roscoe Parrish 42/42. Boss 48/48 was the TE. Finished 5th in the league in scoring with 21.9ppg.Def had some good talent but finished 14th in scoring with 17.6ppg.
