According to the recently ratified Constitution:
D. Contracts
3. Players currently under contract may only be offered a renegotiated contract in the last year of their existing contract. This rule will not apply to a player who is a Hold Out.
Up until this season, renegs were a free-for-all, so please keep this rule in mind when negotiating with your players.

Great, I think I already forgot. Maybe I am in too many leagues, and I guess too football league means too many. (sighs)

So what will be done about the illegal contracts handed out in FA-1 then?

I was just thinking the same thing. Do we all get free renogs? Is there going to be a penalty?

Would be good to have a ruling on this before today's file...
And you'll have it. I am discussing it with the admin team atm. The next stage file will not be run until it's resolved, but I don't see anything more than just a slight delay.

Sweet, thanks Yoda.
We have a possible solution, just waiting on some more feedback, either way, the stage will be run at 12:30 EST.

Does the solution include everyone else gets a free-for-all as well? I need to submit my export... :)
No.
Here's the solution-
I will reload the previous stage and reimport the stage file for those teams that submitted valid exports. I will not import those stage files with illegal contract offers.
Then I will get the exports from the server and run FA2 as scheduled for today.
This won't have any effect on peoples exports for FA2 unless they submitted an invalid export in FA1 and won't have cap room for offers in FA2.
The following teams are affected (ie- they submitted files with illegal offers):
Atlanta
Dallas
Birmingham
SanDiego

They lose all their draft picks for the next 15 years!!!!! (oh, perhaps my status as their AFC West rival is clouding my judgment a bit).

Ok, I think I figured out what happened. I had one player, Guy McIntyre, that originally had a 2 year contract that I negotiated for a 3 year contract as the rule change was being ratified....
That also means that I have to resign legitimate FA1 RFA resignings correct?

I know this is going to sound bad, but I am a bit busy at the moment, and I am competitive, and do not like half a@@ing anything. So with that said, I think the Falcons are better without me at the helms at the moment. Sorry I did not do the Falcons justice. Normally I would enjoy the rebuild, but I do not have the time, and I am doing them more harm then good.
