Nice pick at 1.1 by Oakland - be interesting to see how Conway stacks up against the elite receivers in the league.

Who will go 2nd? Bledsoe? Roaf? Buchanan?

Sure - let's share the 1.1 around and see who everyone picks at that spot. ;-)

I'm still trying to figure out Philly taking Conway. Weboes - was that because you had your chute loaded so Conway fired as your first pick? Or did Yoda make that pick for me?

I'm also curious to know if anyone else had an interview on Conway.

I would be hesitant to take Bledsoe in the top 10. Sure, he's going to boom, but by how much? He has a long way to boom to be an elite QB.

I would almost certainly take Buchanan at 1.2 but that's just me. I considered taking him at 1.1.

Heh - not sure why I said Oakland. Maybe the old Chuck D is from Oakland? :D

I thought it was a good pick. He was one of the top 6 guys in the draft.

We trade out of the 1.2 spot but if we had stuck around it would have been either Ray Buchanan or Willie Roaf - both need picks.

I hate paying 1.2 money to need picks, however. Unless they are going to be studs, it is hard to justify. And I am not convinced that championships are won and lost at the tackle position. CB might be another story, but Buchanan didn't strike me as Deion or Rod Woodson.

So the Draft is on right now?

How would I know that most easily?

Here is the link just in case.

What is everyone doing really? I knew Subby needed to do something crazy but why are people trading in and out of picks when they "know" Subby is making out. Subby i have pick 1.23 can you take this pick and my first next year for like pick 16?

lol great work Subby

Since you sent me that list, I went ahead and put in the pick.

It was a slight delusional pick by me.

Bah, everyone who interviewed him had him at VO. I knew my scout was probably wrong with his VU but was hoping against a VO. I just hope he stays above 60/60.

Washington at 1.23 might have the best WR in the draft with Bryan Fisher. That was my target when trying to get back in the draft.

Draft is paused until I verify that PHI's last pick (Richie Tomlinson) was made by him. The clock ran all night and wasn't stopped at 11pm (I fell asleep).

No need to check, he was autopicked. I was here and the clock ran out on him.

I don't think the clock is supposed to run from midnight est to 9am est.

Was that your last pick subby or were you auto'ed as well?

I don't know if it means anything but I like how Conway came out. His current value is higher than I thought it would be.

All that matters is how they do in camp.

bighouserulez
09-01-2009, 02:18 PM
original ratings pre camp give you a false hope.....Coryatt last year was one of those.

thenewchuckd
09-01-2009, 02:59 PM
I have noticed that guys with high current ratings vs how they are developed can end up better than advertised. For example, I had a LT that started at 65/65 but was only 40% developed. He is now 95/95.

Put another way, Carson has the look of a guy who is 42% developed (if you compare future to current ratings). Conway does not look like a 44% developed guy.

I don't know if you can draw conclusions from this stuff but I'll take any positive sign that I can get at this point. ;-)

Hey everybody. Sorry about my absense during this draft. I've had a list set up, but my internet doesn't seem to get along with this site for some reason. I'm class all day and work at night so I usually can't spend too much time trying to get it to work.

Sorry if I've held things up. I actually can't access the draft war room past the priority page when I try to number my priority list, then it locks up.

It is no biggy you can have a list sent to one of the admins and they can put it in after the stage update.

I have set my auto pick time to 0, because I don't know if I will be around when my pick comes up and I don't have the time to set a list atm and I don't want to hold the draft up.

I downloaded and only my 1st round pick is on my team. So i wait for tomorrow?

Hi,
If some of you would comment on my draft it would help me since I am learning.
Both good and bad comments are welcome. I especially want to know the specific reasons behind your ratings.
Thanks,
Merry:)

I'm new too, but from what I've come to understand is Historical Leagues are very shallow in terms of depth per draft class. But I'll go ahdead review your draft from my perspective.

1.25 LT Greg Bishop - I'm not to keen on him. His best abililty is Run Blocking and his combine (40yd dash) is not where is should be to stay that high. I think he ends up as an average starting LT (I do like the move to switch him from RT, though)
2.27 RE Butch Cook - I don't know why... but I really like him. He'll be your starter easily for a few years, and maybe longer. I like him better than my 'scout' picked 1st round DE.
3.26 LE Teddy Crook - IT might be a stretch that he sticks around for a while. He has decent passrushing skills, but may be replaced sooner rather than later. For a 3rd rounder, it's... "meh"
4.25 MLB Ralph Jacobs - I'm not sure if you're going for a 3-4 or 4-3 defense, but either way he's not a BAD MLB. He should provide decent depth
5.27 FL Bennie Compton - I like this pick. Especially in the 5th. He's got decent combine numbers and will probably be good enough to stick around on a roster for a good 5-10 yrs. Not bad for a 5th rounder.
6.26 WLB Pat Miller - If you're going to use a 3-4 defense, then he's wasted at that spot, where you want pass-rushing skills first. If you're using a 4-3, then he's not bad. His combine 'agility' is amazing, so he should be a very solid run-stopper for you.
7.25 DT Winston Magazine - I like him for a 7th rounder. He could stick around on your roster with his pass-rushing skills. His very high volitility could boom or bust him to better or worse numbers. For a 7th rounder, a bust factor doesn't really hurt, a boom makes him a major steal.
I hope that helps. Plus, I like some of your UDFA pick-ups as well.:)
