1996 Draft Relook
Sorry for the delay guys but here is the draft relook from the previous year.
Round 7
Not the starter but a really reliable reserve back that can handle the blitz nicely.
Steel had this guy play in all 16 games and did not allow a sack the whole year.
A bit of a creeper and is still Green(what a pun haha) 25% on his run blocks and 80% completion on receptions.
I put Wyman lower then he should be because BighouseBrock only played him 4 games. He has a 77% pass defense in his career but is inactive atm
Man leave it to Tim to play a 7th round punter the whole year. Bouman was decent in 16 games and i had to put him up here as an also mention. Round 6 This might have been one of the worst 6 round talents i have seen. I could only find 5 legit contenders.
The steal of the draft. This kid is rated 48/49 and is still green all over. Yeah 6th round choice wow great pick.
Funny Yoda and his late round lineman each year. He has a good player here that has started every game since coming to Neew York for Yoda.
Stokes made a good pick here and helps now that he has Priest Holmes too.
Disturbed once again did well with a late round pick. He started 16 games and was under the helm fro Elway the entire year only giving up 6 sacks. Round 5
I am sure older Tony is happy to see his sibling playing over his skill level here. Nighttrain makes a nice selection early in the 5th.
We know the Dolphins defense was shabby but Donnell had the best pass defense on the team and had 74 tackles. Stu made a good move here.
Good to great pass defense is in the 80%. This kid has 1 pick and iBomb has a great nickel/dime corner.
Disturbed plays another rookie on the oline that is actualyl starting in his second year.
ChuckD gets decent playmaking from his reserve safety. He gets a little too high a score cause he had a pick but still is a nice little corner. Round 4
Wow Brownkeg what a pick here. He steps into the league and finds a stud ILB to lead his team. Nice pick.
A good all around wide out for Bulldog(who i think is not here anymore)
Hard hitting ball hawking safety for Deep Post before he moved to Cleveland. He alos had 4 forced fumbles.
You can never miss a late round special teamer when JZ is in the draft. Here he got a kicker that will be good for the next few years.
Dunlap is less then average at everything except making defenders miss. He is a great compliment for Stokes and Priest this year. Round 3
Jsut an outright steal here at DE. Mr Illini takes one of the best finesse edge rushers in this draft at pick 3.22 wow.
Defense rules this 3rd round as John gets a good allaround DE that excels in run defense.
Reserve safety that just made plays for Subby last year in the defensive backfield. A good pickup as the last pick in the 3rd round.
Steal. Yoda would have had even larger numbers except Rodney Harrison is the man in New York. This kid should be starting somewhere.
Round 2
BHB gets a good piece of the defense in Hardy. He also had 1 forced fumble.
A little early for a 90+ rated kicker right? John grabbed his "kicker 4 life"
In 15 games he had 950 yards rushing. He does not turn the ball over and gets 3.7ypc with a terrible offensive line.
For BHB was the last line of defense and played great as it recording 74 tackles last year.
Great rookie season for an ownerless team forcing 4 turnovers. I am sure DP is happy to have him now that he is there. Round 1 OK now to the big picks
The absolute best pick this year was the 10 interception Coleman by Web. I usually have later round picks for him but this is worth being the only time up.
At pick 20 Schwantz gets a 1000 yard rusher that pounds out the tough years. This is a huge upgrade from Bo Jackson for sure.
I see a plan here by Web. The teams he plays like to pass and let's stop the pass. Man two total stud corners that is awesome.
Let me throw this at you. He had 8 targets and 0 catches in the first game. so in 15 games he had 96 catches for 1300 yards. And an also mention thrown in there
I could not leave out one of the only times 3 players on 1 team get 1000 yards receiveing and Harrison does it for Subby as a 3rd stinger.
